Benin
Students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) on Thursday protested the hike in tuition fee and poor welfare by the management of the institution.
The event hampered vehicular movement in the ancient Benin City, a gateway to the South South and South East regions in the country.
Many of the protesting students waved green leaves while others were carrying placards chanting solidarity songs to lambast the school management they accused of nonchalant attitude towards their welfare.
Although The LeadOnline gathered that the aggrieved students were later addressed by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Faraday Orumwense, who after listening to their complaints promised to address their grievances on Saturday.
But the defiant students were said to have objected to the position of the VC and insisted that prompt action be taken before midnight on Friday.
Attempts to get the Director of Students Affairs of the institution, Professor Osadolor for further reactions on the development was rebuffed as he unequivocally stated that he had nothing to say.
I dugg some of you post as I cogitated they were invaluable handy
