She was in living Russia until 2013 when she could no longer bear the pressure from the gods to return home in Benin City to find her true love at a spot where the ancestors converge and relate with a chief priest through a pond.
The pond now encircled in a building according to the history was the foot hold of a deity that lived in Benin with warriors over 2000 years ago.
Now married with two kids, according to Princes Gloria Eweka, she went through a lot in the hands of the gods before accepting to tie the knot with a man that lived in Evbutobu forest as the custodian of Ogievie, the gods of the river.
Narrating her ordeal to The LeadOnline, Mrs Eweka who now worships Ogievie alongside her husband, Prince Tony Eweka explained how strange creatures in human form appeared to her in Russia and instructed her to return home and marry her man.
“I have several encounters with mermaid and other gods warning me to head their instructions. They kept revealing a lot of things to me about life and my role as the wife a king. I ignored them at first, then my troubled began, such that I was no longer myself.
“When I arrived Nigeria in 2013, my mum took me to different places but none could find solution to my challenges. Strange voices kept having conversation with me in different forms. But when I was brought before my husband, I told my mum that I was not going to return home with her that I have found a place that suits my heart”.
That was how Gloria began to live in a hurt with the chief priest whose first love abandoned him in the thick forest for choosing to serve as traditional healer.
Although the once bushy shrine of Ogievie has now turned to a vast tourist center with modern facilities where people from all walks of life receive healings and spiritual solutions, Prince Eweka said the successes he had achieved were with the support of his wife.
He said his wife was a blessing to his calling. “My wife has brought me goodluck because she had been faithful and steadfast. She is equally spiritually gifted as she can interpret the minds of the gods to those who are troubled by one problem or the other”.
To the amazement of those that have visited the shrine, spiritual objects like rosemary and olive oil had been extracted from the pond by the chief priest who explained that they were objects sent by the gods to solve individual’s problems.
“Sometimes the ancestors send all sort of things like clothes, rings, necklace, handwritten letters and many other materials that have proved that Ogievie has a special relationship with the almighty.
“How those things come about I don’t know. My duty is to handover those objects to whoever I am instructed to give. You can see that Christ is here even though I am not a Christian. Apart from that, in the Ogievie shrine too there are crowns of several kings and queens that had reigned centuries ago and they still speak with me here at intervals.
“Anybody with any form of sickness can come here for healing so also those seeking progress be it in politics or other endeavours can approach me and their prayers will be answered”.
