On Thursday, August 23, Adebowale Obayo clocks 60 and was treated to an elaborate sent forth party by colleagues and well wishers as he retired from the Lagos State Civil Service after 35 years.
The event was held at the Multi Purpose Hall of Radio Lagos/ Eko FM at Agindingbi, Ikeja.
Described by chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, Dr Qasim Akinreti, as an asset to journalism profession, the Kogi born media practitioner was showered with encomiums by several high profiled personalities that attended the event.
Top pastors from Christ Apostolic Church described him as a God fearing man who served the almighty diligently.
Presenting him with a special recommendation letter on behalf of the Union, Akinreti said the entire NUJ was grateful for the several useful contributions of the retiring journalist to the body over the years.
As former chairman of Radio Lagos/Eko FM NUJ Chapel, Obayo gave the Union quality leadership.
He is a broadcaster of note and senior news manager with distinguished character according to the Lagos NUJ chairman.
