Prominent National Leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George has faulted the conduct of Saturday’s presidential and national assembly polls.
In as much he acknowledged peaceful conduct of the election he however said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s rating fell below expected standard.
He spoke during a chat with journalist at his polling unit at Evans areas in Lagos during a monitoring by member of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Sate council.
“The whole world is watching and INEC has no answers to various shortcomings about the election. A former minister of state called me that there was ballot box snatching at Oshodi and I also noticed that at Victoria Island too.
“I have watched video of violence against the Ibo people by those who called themselves Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) supported by the All Progressive Congress in Lagos state. That is too bad.
“The idea that I must win syndrome did not happen during the President Goodluck Jonathan era. At 75 what I want for Nigeria is credible poll he said. Well I will wait after the whole election results are announced by INEC and we shall compare note to judge the anomalies” he said.
