With Four Books, Prof Ikechukwu Proffers Solutions To Migration Challenges

Professor Kanu Ikechukwu Anthony,  professor of religion and president, Association for the Promotion of African Studies (APAS),  and consultant to the Journalists International Forum For Migration, JIFORM, has published four migration books.

The publications focus on impact of migration on Nigerian development and society dwell extensively on brain drain, brain gain, brain circulation, among others.

The current Rector of Villanova Polytechnic, Imesi Ile, Osun State co-authored the  books namely African Migration and Religion: Migrant Religion and Multi-Local Identifications (with Kanayo Nwadialor), African Migration and Development: Contexts, Problems and Perspectives (with Chiugo Kanu), African Migration and Philosophy: Between Cultural Bereavement and Identity (with Ejikemeuwa Ndubisi) and African Migration and Culture: Complex and Changing Relationships (with Nkechinyere Nwokoye) and were published by Lambert Academic Publishing in Mauritius.

Hailing the Don, Ajibola Abayomi, the president of JIFORM described the him as a rare breed in Africa with his passion for advocacy against irregular.

“We are proud of Professor Ikechukwu, he has proved his worth in all endeavors and our contact with him has been a blessing to humanity” he said.

The Rector said the books were product of presentations of  international conference on migration and explores the relationship between migration and development Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He revealed that the concept of migration comes in different forms, as individuals, families or groups move from one place to another with the intention of settling, permanently or temporarily at a new location, but with the onerous objective of achieving greener pastures.
