As the All Progressive Congress (APC), Edo State Chapter inches towards primaries to determine its gubernatorial candidate on Monday, June 22, the party has disowned a statement credited on Saturday a member of the party at Etsako Ward 10 in the state, Mr. Oshawo Stephen regarding the continuous suspension of the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
During an exclusive chat with TheLead Online on Sunday, the Publicity Secretary of APC in Edo State, Chris Azebamen said claims by Oshawa was of the no effect as he had no authority to speak for the party henceforth at any level.
“The person (Oshawo) you were referring to has no authority to speak on behalf of our party” said the spokesman.
He however said the embargo placed on the National Chairman had been lifted accordingly.
At a press briefing in Abuja, 17 out of the 27 executive ward members of the party at Eisako had lifted the controversial suspension.
Reading out the resolution of June 4 ward executive meeting held at the APC Secretariat in Apana-Uzairue, Edo state, Secretary of the Ward, Emuakemeh Sule said thus:
“We the undersigned, being the Executive Committee of All Progressives Congress APC in Ward 10 Eisako West L.G.A, Edo State having met today 4/ 6/2020 affirm the following positions

“We call on all organs of our great party to restore all rights and privileges of membership to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole”.
Signatories to the resolution were the vice-chairperson, Adizetu Jafaru, Assistant Secretary, Angela Egherua, Financial Secretary, Imokhai Patrick, Assistant Legal Adviser, Akufah Paul and Auditor, Jacob Akhamhe. Others were the Woman Leader, Marian Imonikhe, Treasurer, John Shaibu, ex-officio, Benjamin Yakubu, Organizing Secretary, John Irale, Youth Leader, Cosmas Iyamah and Assistant Financial Secretary, Linus Umoru
But Oshawo in his own statement later dismissed claims that the suspension had been lifted.
