In continuation of their international media collaboration, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, Dr Qasim Olalere Akinreti and the Managing Editor,The Nation Online newspaper, Mr Lekan Otufodunrin are among the select speakers at training program of the prestigious World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) holding in Narobi Kenya.
The one week programme commenced on Monday, December 11, 2017 with several notable Journalists across Africa and other continents in attendance.
The training which focused on Communication Rights for African Journalists is being hosted at the Desmond Tutu Conference Center, AACC in Nairobi Kenya.
33 participants across Africa are attending the conference with the theme: Displacement, Interfaith Dialogue and Peace-building.
Dr Akinreti, a holder of Doctorate degree of Mass Communication from Babcock University, Nigeria is Assistant Director News, Voice of Nigeria while a widely traveled scholar and Journalist, Otunfodunrin is also a senior Editor at The Nation Newspapers.
During the event Otunfodurin presented paper on Applied Critical Communication Rights: Displacement and Refugees Presentation while Akinreti spoke on WACC Africa Region Project and Applied Critical Communication Rights: Interfaith Dialogue.
Both journalists participated in discussions on Snapshots of Communication Rights Landscape given perspectives of Nigerian media,
