LP Seeks Positive Goals, End To Benue Killings

The leadership of the Labour Party (LP) has urged Nigerians to begin the 2018 on a positive note and called for an end to killings in Benue state.

Chairman of the party, Dr Mike Omotoso conveyed the New Year Goodwill message of the party in a statement made available to newsmen.

He appealed to the masses and government to set positive goals and resolutions that were feasible, flexible and accessible to all.

The LP chair said 2018 should to be about new initiatives in governance.

He implored the aggrieved faction of the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to respect the outcome of the October 8, 2017 Special Convention of the party.

The LP boss called for an end to the killings by the herdsmen across the country especially in Benue state.

He said the party has launched the #istandwithbenue  and called on Nigerians to speak out for justice and defend the country’s unity.

According to him, it was the duty of government to protect her citizens and should never allow the people to be threatened to the point of wanting to pick up arms in self-defense.

The party also expressed worry over the accident of the son of the President, Yusuf Buhari and his friend Bashir and prayed for their speedy recovery.
