Members of the fourth estate of the real has been urged to project positive image of the media and the country at large to the world during the International Press institute (IPI) Congress between June 21 and 23 this year.
The Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), President Comrade Waheed Odusile made the plea during the advocacy visit by the IPI Congress local organising committee meeting in Ilorin Kwara state.
He said the Nigerian media had to change the narrative for positive growth in the country. Comrade Odusile used the opportunity to seek for cooperation and understanding within the union.
The advocacy visit took the IPI Congress local organising committee to National Pilot newspaper, The Herald Newspaper, Radio Kwara, NTA Kwara and the NUJ Kwara.
The delegation was led by Dr Tony Iredia former DG NTA, head of media publicity committee. Others are President of NUJ Comrade Waheed Odusile, Raheem Adedoyin firmer Commissioner of information Kwara state.
Others include Secretary IPI Congress Local Organising Committee, Victoria Ibanga, Secretary Nigeria Guild of Editors, Mr Yemi Ajayi, Secretary Publicity Committee, Dr Qasim Akinreti, chairman NUJ Lagos State Council and Secretary transport and logistics committee as well as the Editor Herald Newspaper, Yomi Adeboye.
