NUJ Day: Lagos Secretariat Wears National Colour

Today, March 15, 2018, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council will mark the history of the foremost Union.

Ahead of the event the Secretariat of the Union at Iyalla, Alausa in Ikeja, the capital of the state had already adored the national green and white colours.

President of the NUJ, Mr Waheed Odusile, his predecessor Mohammed Garba, the current Kano State Commissioner of Information and Jola Ogunwusi, for National Secretary of Union are expected to deliver good will message during the programme with the State of the Nation as the central theme.

The event which will be held at the secretariat is slated for 11 am. Speaker,Lagos State, House of Assembly, Hon Mudasiru Obasa will lead other special guests that include Hon Tunde Braimoh, House Committee Chairman on Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, Commissioner of Arts, Culture and Tourism.

Also, Lagos State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr Kehinde Bamgbetan, a former executive member of Lagos NUJ and other past chairmen of the council,  Mr Dele Odebiyi, Lanre Arogundade, Mrs Olufunke Fadugba and Wahab Alabi Oba.

According to the chairman of Lagos Council, Dr Qasim Akinreti, the  programme was being organised to reignite the history of the Union.

It would be recalled that this is first time the NUJ will celebrate its history.
