Mr and Mrs Shoaga

The story of the family was pathetic. They waited for several years for the fruit of womb but to avail until something happened.

Mr and Mrs Babajide Shoaga, now Pastor and Deaconess respectively went through a lot.

The Pastor’s wife summoned courage to tell the story. The LeadOnline in these pieces decided to run the encounter as revealed from the horse’s mouth.

I got married to my husband, Pastor Babajide Shoaga on the 12th of December 1998 and I was 25 while he was 30. Since then, we had believed God for the fruit of the womb.

We went from one hospital to another but there was no solution. In 2006, after 7 years of waiting, it was discovered that I had a medical condition called, ‘Endometriosis.’

This is a condition when the tissue that grows in the pinning of the uterus begins to grow outside the uterus. This usually caused me severe pain during my menstrual cycle.

Record has it that this condition causes infertility and the cure for endometriosis is menopause or pregnancy.

Initially, I was placed on medication to stop my period for about three months but I later stopped using the medication.

We had no option but to do In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) since the endometriosis had already damaged my fallopian tubes which were removed in 2006. Over the years, until 2014, I did seven IVFs which resulted to two pregnancies but I lost the pregnancies at six and nine weeks respectively.

We told ourselves we needed some break so we stopped for some time and waited on God to guide us.

My husband was very supportive as he kept assuring me that the hurdle will come to an end someday. Our family members encouraged us and I did not have any issue with my husband’s family despite the fact that he is the only son.

We decided to settle with God, particularly during the 2015 Congress which was our 17th wedding anniversary. We fasted, prayed, visited the Open Heavens Gallery and told God to give us our wedding present.

That day, I called my daddy in the Lord, Pastor Peter Olawale (the Special Assistant to the General Overseer, Prayers) to pray with us. He invited us to his house and particularly his prayer room where we prayed together and he anointed us.

On that same day, during the programme, daddy announced that we would be having a three in one service (anointing, Holy Communion and impartation services). During the service, I cried my heart out to God to please give me one baby per service to mark our wedding anniversary.

I remember that at the end of every service, during the Congress, I would go to the altar to pray and rob my stomach on the altar that the anointing of God should flow in to me.

My husband and I also went to the new auditorium at Simawa to pray. After the prayer, I bent to pick three stones and I told God that each stone represented the child I wanted from Him.

After that programme, we knew within us that God had settled us. We went back to the hospital after almost two years break.

We came for the 2016 January Holy Ghost Service which was tagged “No more loses” and we ensured that we attended that month’s Divine Encounter, Shiloh Hour, Communion service and the Holy Ghost service.

All these we did to fortify ourselves for the next medical procedure in order to achieve success and by 2016 February after another IVF, I was confirmed pregnant.

After I was confirmed pregnant with a set of triplets, I was advised to proceed on leave from work by my doctor in order to avoid stress, considering my age and the number of babies I was carrying.

On 9th April, 2016, when the pregnancy was eleven weeks, I started draining water so I was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night and I was placed on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy. I was delivered of the triplets on the 5th of September 2016.

God gave us Eriaanuoluwanimi (Testimony of the mercy of God), Eriilerioluwanimi (Testimony of the promise of God), and Eriireoluwanimi (Testimony of the goodness of God).

Since their arrival into our family, it has been a wonderful experience.
