It sounds superstitious and unrealistic, but the chief priest and custodian of Ogievie deity, Benin City, Edo State, Prince Tony Eweka insisted that the doubting Thomases would believe in the gods when the time comes.
Few days ago, having extracted the letter from the mysterious ogievie pond, where the gods do communicate with him through letters and other spiritual objects at his country home in Benin, he went to pronounce Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State as the successor of President Buhari come 2019.
He said the victory of the governor who is yet to declare interest to run for the office of president had been sealed by the gods.
Not satisfied with his pronouncement alone, TheLead Online pressed further the chief priest who claimed he had received over 50 letters concerning aspirations and spiritual solutions of several personalities in the country to show the proof of handwriting of the gods.
Hear him: “The gods don’t lie. The elders are not like the human beings who are not sincere. In 2016, in Benin here a lot of politicians came asking me to assist them to win the governorship election but the gods chose Governor Obaseki and I displayed the letter.
“I stood by that message and made the pronouncement before the poll that Obaseki would win. Although other politicians were not happy with me, now mark my words, Governor Aminu Tambuwal who I have never met in my life had been chosen to win the 2019 poll. That nothing will change.
“I have been given the message since January this year but I waited until the right time to make it public. A lot of people have been here at this shrine to receive spiritual solutions to their problems. After consultations with the gods whatever I am given will be handed over in the open and that will meet their instant needs.”
Asked how the gods spoke English language and make computer typing, he said, “well that is beyond me. I only unveiled what I am given as rapped in the sack that transported it through the pond. The gods understand every language in this world. Don’t forget they are from the spirit world.
“Not only letters, on many occasions they have brought rosaries, chaplet, many necklace, clothes and a lot of engraved writings through the pond. Many of the clothes and beads I am using were sent to me by the gods. I want whoever that is doubting what I am saying to come over here to see things for themselves” said Prince Eweka.
