Front line advocacy foundation against irregular migration and human trafficking, Journalists International For Migration, JIFORM, has called on the Osun State Government and other well meaning Nigerians regarding the situation of a returnee, Mr Benjamin Sesan Ojo, that requires urgent medical attention.
The call was made in a statement issued at weekend after a visit by JIFORM President, Ajibola Abayomi and Yaqoub Popoola a member of the foundation to the Trinidad and Tobago returnee now living in a pitiable condition with deteriorating health at Ilesha, his home town.
Ajibola praised the Mrs Kafayat Oyetola, the wife of Osun State Governor for facilitating the return of the Ojo to Nigeria having being stranded in Trinidad and Tobago for 12 years but said the returnee if not placed on medical facility may collapse soon.
“We thank the wife of Osun State Governor, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola for the wonderful humanitarian gestures and for proving that she is a true caring mother, however the situation of Ojo since February 2, 2020, he arrived at Ilesha is deteriorating with decaying leg, swollen hands and ranches all over his body, if not attended to on time, he may soon be in a critical situation beyond control.
“We are calling on the Osun State government and other well meaning Nigerians to step into the situation. No matter where he was coming from or his past, we thank Mrs Oyetola for giving him another opportunity to face the future, however for that future to be certain, the good humanitarian effort must be completed with his treatment and total rehabilitation. On this matter, our dear Osun State government has a duty” said the JIFORM president.
