The Journalists International Forum For Migration (JIFORM) has expressed sadness over the death of retired a retired senior officer and a serving Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
JIFORM extends condolences to the families of the deceased and heary felt sympathy to the Comptroller General of the NIS urging them to be consoled that both incidents were act of God.
A statement issued by the JIFORM President, Ajibola Abayomi on Tuesday in Lagos at the Headquarters of the over 200 journalists foundation spread across the continents covering migration reads:
“With heavy heart and in total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah, we wish to express our condolences to the Comptroller General of the NIS, Muhammad Babandede, MFR over the death of two senior officers of the agency.
“We were shocked about the passing away of Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Isiyaku Yayirus Hamad (rtd), the former Zonal Coordinator Zone A, Lagos and Comptroller Ismaila Abdulkadir Kuso mni, Comptroller Maintenance Headquarters NIS, Abuja.”
“Their deaths were indeed painful losses to the entire nation not just NIS alone because they left at a moment Nigeria is experiencing unprecedented and monumental turnarounds of her immigration service.
“No doubt, their supports and experiences would be greatly missed regarding the ongoing revolution at the NIS. The departed men had played their parts as committed staff of the most reformed minded agency in Nigeria.
“At this point in time, we pray for the repose of their souls and share the pains of Babandede and the entire NIS family.
“Inna Lilahi Wainailehi Rojeeun…MayAlmighty Allah (SWT) be pleased with them and grant them Aljanat firdous. Amen” Ajibola prayed.
